When you request an estimate or quotes, we collect the information you enter in the form: your name, phone number, email address, property address, and details about your project (project type, approximate home size, roof material, and timeline). We also generate a ballpark cost estimate from those inputs. Like most websites, our hosting providers may log basic technical data such as IP address and browser type. The address field uses Google Maps address autocomplete, which is subject to Google's own privacy policy. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and the service is intended for homeowners in the United States.
We use your information to prepare your estimate and to match your request with local roofing contractors. When you submit a request, we share it with the roofing contractor(s) we match you with — and their service partners — so they can contact you about your project by phone, call, text, or email, as described in the consent language on the form. Because our service is funded by referral fees paid by contractors, this sharing may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under California law. We do not share your information with other categories of third parties for their own marketing, and we do not use the information for purposes unrelated to your request. Form submissions are delivered to us by a form-delivery provider acting on our behalf.
California residents have the right to know what personal information we have collected, to request that it be deleted or corrected, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these rights — including "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" — email info@getroofestimates.com with your name and the details of your request; we will respond within the timeframes required by law. You can also opt out of further calls or texts from any matched contractor by telling them directly or replying STOP to their texts.
We keep lead information for as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, handle follow-ups, and meet legal and record-keeping obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified.
